Neustadt-Meet ups

In 1979, the City of Bad Neustadt invited representatives of other Neustadt cities to the first meeting: The Neustadt Idea was born. Since then the Neustadt Meet-up has taken place annually. An overwhelming wave of travel, visitors and networking has occurred between the cities.

Football clubs organised the “Neustadt Tournament”, youth groups, fire brigades, reservist associations, traditional clothes and hiking associations, chess and choir clubs all head out in order to find friends in other Neustadts, to go visit the other cities, to celebrate festivals together and to make new contacts. Special trains, numerous bus rides and private family trips create a broad foundation for the Neustadt idea and the citizens of the Neustadt cities.

For many Neustadt citizens , however the great “Neustadt Meet-up” with often more than 1,000 participants from all over Europe is the annual highlight. Mostly this is celebrated together during a large city festival. Here old friendships are nurtured and new contacts created.
