Nowe Miasto nad Pilicą (Neustadt an der Pilica)

The district of Nowe Miasto nad Pilicą (Neustadt an der Pilica) lies in the central part of Poland at the border of Masovian and Lodz Voivodeship and was created from the market village of Pobiedna. It obtained town privileges in 1400. In 1873 a naturopathy centre, was created in which mainly treated patients afflicted by tuberculosis and burnt out . The basis of therapy were massages and various baths. Visitors seeking out the spa resort not only came from Poland, but also from abroad such as from Moscow, St. Petersburg, London and New York.

The city is located in picturesque surroundings on the left banks of the Pilica. The natural beauty of the landscape with its pristine flair make this area a wonderful place to relax. The numerous monuments, the cultural events, a paddle boat area and the prettiest park areas make a visit well worth while. The closely located Pilica and the large number of fish ponds make this area ideal for fishing.
